8/4/2016 0 Comments Vatican CityFun fact: the Vatican (headquarters of the Catholic church) is actually its own country. Today we explored the many rooms of the Vatican museums and a bit of the city itself. I had no idea the Vatican held dozens of other beautifully painted ceilings in addition to the Sistine Chapel. It was unbearably hot, but so beautiful.

8/4/2016 0 Comments London to RomaWe arrived in Rome yesterday afternoon. After a long travel morning and a crazy shuttle to our hotel, we decided to have a low key night. We are fortunate to be staying only a few blocks from the Spanish Steps (which are, of course, closed at the moment). So, last night we explored the neighborhood, drank red wine, and ate pasta. The streets are so picturesque. The buildings vary in pastel colors and vines fall off the roofs from the gardens. I can't wait to see more, off to the Vatican today!
8/3/2016 0 Comments The Tower of LondonOne of my top bucket list items in England was the Tower of London, a historic castle on the north bank of the Thames. The oldest structure is from the 11th century and it was used until the 19th century. It served as a prison, royal residence, and most famously the location where King Henry VIII executed his second wife, Anne Boleyn. Today, my mom and I finally went inside and explored the site on our last day in London.
8/1/2016 0 Comments Harry Potter Studio TourAs a crazy Harry Potter fan studying in London, I knew I had to buy tickets for the Warner Brother's Studio Tour. I don't have too much to say other than how AMAZING it was. I absolutely recommend it. Fantastic experience.
8/1/2016 0 Comments Momma takes on LondonMy mom arrived in London two days ago and from the moment she stepped off the tube, we've been pounding the pavement. I've taken her to all the obligatory tourist spots (Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge) while trying to show her some of my favorite smaller areas of the city. It feels good to have family here in the city I have grown to love so much.
